Living Legend Sachin Tendulkar to star in his Biopic

Sachin Tendulkar’s on and off the field life to be made public on screen

A Mumbai-based production company, 200 Not Out is gearing up for the release of a feature film on former cricketer and master blaster Sachin Tendulkar, which will hit over 2000 theatres in the near future.

Having amassed records after records on the cricket field, it’s time for the master to enter into a new role of an actor. It will be his debut movie and no better way to start a new career than by acting in his own biopic.

Though the film is yet to be titled but it’s been learnt that it would cover all the highs and lows of the Great man’s career, his life on and off the field right from his childhood to youth and also his marriage to Mrs. Anjali Tendulkar.

200 Not Out has taken over the rights to make the film from World Sports Group (WSG), which manages Sachin’s brand and commercial interests. Award-winning London-based writer and filmmaker, James Erskine will be directing the film.

The shooting for the film is already underway and it is expected to hit the theatres sometime near the end of this year.

The movie has been planned keeping in mind the huge fan following that Tendulkar possesses with himself. His career is a well-known and very famous among the people all over the world.

Sachin Tendulkar retired from all formats of international cricket in 2013. By the time he retired, he had already reached the pinnacle of world cricket having scored a staggering 100 international centuries. He is been widely regarded as ‘The Best Batsman Of the Modern Era.’

Sachin, during his illustrious career, also kept on winning numerous awards from time to time. He became the first sportsperson to receive the ‘Bharat Ratna – the highest civilian honour’ in 2014 for his outstanding contribution to Indian cricket. Some of the other awards worth mentioning are the Padma Awards, the Arjuna Award and the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award -the highest sporting honour. He was also awarded the ICC player of the World Cup 2003. He’s been selected as the Brand Ambassador of the ICC World Cup for the second time running.

The film is expected to be of 90 minutes to 2 hours duration. So get ready to travel with the Legend, Sachin Tendulkar, himself as he quickly takes you through the interesting twists and turns in his life in this nearly-two hour’s biopic.
